RE: Charles Kennedy caught smoking on train

He voted for the smoking ban, I believe. Kinda disconcerting. He just doesn't seem to be able to avoid letting himself down. First the alcoholism, now this. I think the party was right to put him out of the leadership; for all Sir Ming lacks, I don't think he would be caught smoking against the ban!

RE: Alan Johnston released!

Was absolutely delighted to see this on the news today! As time passed it must have seemed less and less unlikely that he would ever be released. I wondered if he had actually been killed sometimes.

RE: Burning car rammed into Glasgow airport terminal

Medics are taught, as we Red Cross volunteers are taught, to treat everyone with identical care. The doctors who are looking after this wretch are doing their job as they were trained to do it. That's a good thing; but I wish the chap had died at the scene ...

...Is their something wrong with keeping them in a 8x8 cell for the rest of their life?...
It costs money.
Yep, money which they simply aren't worth. ;) For me, it's a question of justice and principle, though; not having prison expenses for people like t...

RE: Iraq civilian deaths 'dropping'
Have you noticed the commentary on "deadliest three months"? Since when are months measured in groups of three? Just to portray a bad image perhaps? Seems like the media can't help themselves when it comes to putting a negative spin on things.
That's the media all the way throu...

RE: Teenager describes killing nurse
I just cant agree with killing someone for a crime. Is their something wrong with keeping them in a 8x8 cell for the rest of their life? And in this case especially! if he is mentally ill it might not have been intentional.
I, for one, believe that people are responsible for...

RE: Bye bye Tony!!

"Good riddance." That chap ^^ had the right idea! I hear that he has a job as envoy to the Middle East, which I think is way too soon. I don't see why he should walk out of one high-flying job, straight into another. Probably still concerned about that troublesome legacy ... But being PM for 10 year...

RE: Censoring video games
Really this just seems like a pointless topic. I can't see what the big issue is with violent games. There are plenty of violent books and films yet hardly any of them get any stick.
Maybe it's just me, but isn't there a big difference between books and films/video games? The l...

RE: The Lockerbie bomber.

I missed this ... or maybe read it on an unusually chaotic day lol.

If he's guilty he ought not to be still alive. Prison sentence for killing 270 people! It's sickening. Innocent? Given the state of our "justice" system, that's quite possible ...
