RE: Deputy dumps paralyzed man out of wheelchair!

I think more likely, it is just a weariness of it all. You ask soldiers (maybe even Rom!) if they have ever lost it with someone and later regretted it. People would be horrified in the civilised world. However, they don't appreciate the situation it was done in. The stress, strain and mental wearin...

RE: Smoking in public places

Smoking kills. It kills you for inhaling it and those around you when you exhale it. It's a solemn thing, but non-smokers in a home full of cigarette smoke are takign enough of the poison as if they were smoking themselves. People die early in the UK every year from the effects from passive smoking....

RE: Deputy dumps paralyzed man out of wheelchair!

I know they face dreadful criminals. They must get hardened to being beaten up my criminals, it is the same old story for them as far as they are concerned. Suspects not doing as they are told, fighting kicking and making a scene. After a hard and frustrating day it is easy to see how they could los...

He'll get something, I'm sure. You think this is an isolated incident confined to this department, or does it tell of something more widespread in the US? The police brutality videos are always appearing on youtube. Some of them are appalling.

RE: Deputy dumps paralyzed man out of wheelchair!

Disgusting. The person should be done for assault and all those who had anything to do with it should be sacked. Those that stood by should be demoted within the service. That's the sort of thing we'd all be horrified if some drunken yobs did it. The total complacency astonishes me. No-one seems mov...

RE: Got into university

It is a matter of taste, strange that you liked college and didn't like uni. I love the social/sports side of uni. For me it is a one in a lifetime's opportunity to enjoy things that I couldn't get access to before.

RE: Road Safety

Children are only removed from their parents in exceptionaly circumstances. Even cruel parents are often loved by their children and don't believe the situation is as bad as it is. Child abuse in various forms, or an incapacity to look after a child (serious alcoholics, druggies, mentally ill) are e...

RE: Attacking the emergency services.

You can't shoot the group of 14 year olds from the local school that is pulling your fence down though, surely? If you are a firefighter you can't shoot the people bricking you. If you are an ambulance guy and someone attacks you; you can't leave him. You have to wait for the police. I am not referi...

RE: One law for them and another law for us.

For a man of his learning it is just far too humiliating to acknowlege he is wrong. He would rather resign that do that. Like you say, I think he's made himself a fool and now he is trying to look clever in order to cover up. It was the wrong moment to say it, there was nothing on the news to overca...
