RE: Australians are in Iraq for oil
Yep, the government admitted it. 1 down a few more to go. I don't believe the UK or the US will admit that. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6272168.stm
But PM John Howard has played down the comments, saying it was "stretching it a bit" to conclude that Australia's...

RE: Exoplanets
I look at it this way, back some 600 years ago on the planet earth there were experts that said the world was flat and that the earth was the center of our solar system. Then several groups of explorers set out to see for themselves. The found a "New World" and it was inhabite...

RE: Police hunt for London car bomber

Just heard on the TV News that two men have been stopped and arrested by the anti terrorist squad on the M6 motorway (most direct route to Glasgow from London) just 3 miles from my home.

RE: Exoplanets
Like anything there is an opportunity cost to this. Do you spend hundreds of billions on space exploration or do you do something else with the money. I guess at least its better than killing people in wars. (No I'm not a pacifist!).
I'm not aware of the exact cost of astronomy ...

RE: Exoplanets
I have to chuckle when astronomers make the jump from barren gas planets like Jupiter and Saturn existing to abundant, life-filled planets like Earth existing. In all of astronomical history, no living creatures have been found on other celestial bodies, and I don't expect our efforts t...

RE: Exoplanets
I am interested in astronomy and whether there is extraterrestrial life out there. I believe that if life is found on another planet it won't be found within my lifetime (I mean life similar to us, not crushed bugs ;) ). However I could be wrong and I hope I am. What was that planet tha...

RE: Paris Hilton back to jail
I think daddy and mummy should have spent more time paddling her butt than kissing it....lmao She's a spoiled, selfish, self-centered, self-righteous, self-absorbed, rich waste of humanity. To put it mildly, I have no earthly use for her or any of her family. I will never stay...
