I know this is a bit old but I wanted to see everyones opinion on this. It's a landmark case for same sex couples, and should help build a foundation for other states trying to make marriage legal as well. Another thing to keep an eye on is that Obama and Clinton do not support same sex marriage but instead civil unions.

Kentucky voted to stop that a few years ago. So some judge wanting to write law can't do that here.

It is over now... Californians have banned it. Common sense prevails in the end. Long live Arnold Schwarzenegger!!

The decision was based on the fact that the privilege of marriage to gay couples is discriminatory in nature. The decision to grant the right to marriage and all the benefits and responsibilities of same-sex couples.

I am not in favor of same sex marriage, it goes against all I believe but I do think that same sec partners have the right to enjoy the same legal protection and due process the traditional marriages enjoy. I guess in the end who cares what we call it.

They may change the law, but they can't change our minds about it.
