Nope, its the EU. I think translators are good enough in this situtation..
"Practical men who believe themselves to be quite exempt from any intellectual influence, are usually the slaves of some defunct economist. Madmen in authority, who hear voices in the air, are distilling their frenzy from some academic scribbler of a few years back" - John Maynard Keynes

Above all, I would teach him to tell the truth ... Truth-telling, I have found, is the key to responsible citizenship. The thousands of criminals I have seen in 40 years of law enforcement have had one thing in common: Every single one was a liar. [JE Hoover]

If Tony Blair had done the very same thing when someone was speaking French there would have a real stink.

Of course! But remember we are an exception, as we are cut off from Europe in the middle of the sea - we are the visitors... ;)

Oh so that is the problem. About 40+ years ago they were teaching the children here in the "colonies" things like this.

"The first permanent settlement in North America was the English colony at Jamestown
in 1607, in what is now Virginia."

So I have always had a great respect and some connection there.:D

Now to find out that you are an island nation! Excuse me while I compose myself.:?
