Full Saddam Execution Video Leaked from Cellphone

Post by appleton » Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:46 pm

May not be for some but this shows the full execution. Saddam is being insulted right through to when the trapdoor opens.

Warning: Could upset some viewers

He took it better than I always thought he would.

The BBC reports it. Apparantly they taunted him just before the trapdoor was released. Worse still his supporters are now vowing revenge.

I'm glad I am not a contractor or soldier out there.

It ought to have been done with dignity etc, but I don't think it's such a big deal. Of all people, I don't think Saddam deserves our pity. The people who were insulting/taunting him perhaps had black memories of his tyrannising regime.
Above all, I would teach him to tell the truth ... Truth-telling, I have found, is the key to responsible citizenship. The thousands of criminals I have seen in 40 years of law enforcement have had one thing in common: Every single one was a liar. [JE Hoover]

They did not hurt his feelings. But it makes the US and the Iraq government look bad. Some of our soldiers will die because of it.

I hope not. :( The way it was done wasn't our governments' fault; even the execution itself wasn't (he was tried and sentenced by Iraqi law). That won't make any difference to some people, I guess. But anyway, insurgents don't need a reason to kill our soldiers.

I didn't watch the actual execution ... only the bit up to where he has the rope around his neck. He does look pretty calm.

The US has already had over 3000 killed over there. So we expect things to get worse before they get better. I think we should hang the guy with the phone. They said there was only two phones there. And they were high ranking Iraq officials.
