This is a tricky one. Much more difficult than Iraq.

It housed thousands of active terrorists that were going abroad. It was a country ruled by a horrible regime and was part in anarchy/civil war.
The man who masterminded 9/11 was sending his commands from there and terrorists were pouring out of the country.

5 years on. Terrorist camps smashed and most of them dead with Osama unwell and unable to raise an eyebrow for fear of his life he remains a ghost leader. The Taliaban who - lets face it- are NOT Al-qaeda are the ones causing all the damage.

So although the trophy has not been caught - isn't the job done over there in many respects? It appears to me we have the NATO forces rebuilding the country and then the Taliban taking it down! They have a form of democracy, but how real is it?

Some ideas for conversation! Let's hear what you think...

WE need to send in some extra forces and clear out everything we can find. And we really need to find a way to stop them from growing all that dope they sell to the US.
That money goes to fund the killing of both out soldiers and our citizens at home.

Afghanistan is a crossroads between the East and the West, and was an ancient focal point of the Silk Road and migration. It has an important geostrategic location, connecting South and Central Asia and Middle East.

The new Government are as corrupt, oppressive and undemocratic as the Taliban. Nothing's changed.

The US should have taken the Taliban's offer in 2001 and had Osama handed over. But no, Georgie had to have his little war with the desert nomads - now he got all the Jihadists against him. They were outraged at 9/11 and sympathetic toward America.

Afghanistan is a landlocked country in the South Central Asia. There is a beautiful Afghan culture related to its History, society, languages, peoples, sports, occasions, festivals and many more interesting things to learn about the Afghanistan. Afghanistan includes the best government, military, communication and various things to know which is great.

I definitely agree with your statement. Anyway, we don't specifically know the purpose why Obama or Al-Qaeda did this unlawful acts. I think government should start to have an action not in the form of war but in the conciliation. Everything will be placed on its location through proper and peaceful way.

Afghanistan Government has never had a real and probably never will. They are stuck between Pak and Iran, the more it will always tribal. Keep types of terrorist America is the best thing to stop terrorism.Afghanistan a little oil and gas of its own, but not enough to be considered a major strategic concern. Its northern neighbor, in contrast, contain reserves which could be essential for the future of global supply ... But oil and gas there is worthless until it is moved. The only way that is both politically and economically is through Afghanistan.
